The Temple Recommend Questions are My Testimony
Dear Ward Family,
One of the blessings I enjoy most as a bishop is participating in the temple recommend interviews. Each one is a sacred reminder of the power of personal testimony as I hear members of our ward express their faith through the temple recommend questions.
These questions are more than a means to an end—they are a framework for living in harmony with the gospel of Jesus Christ. As we answer them honestly and strive to follow the Savior, we strengthen our confidence in Heavenly Father's plan, our Savior's role in that plan, and our ability to return to them one day.
Inspired by this thought, I recently took on a personal challenge to write out the temple recommend questions as a testimony. It was a humbling and uplifting experience, and I invite you to try it too. If you hold a temple recommend, these questions already reflect your testimony. Now, I encourage you to personalize them—make them your own.
For December's Fast Sunday, I would love to hear yours, whether said or read, as part of your testimony.
Thank you for your faith and example.
With love,
Bishop Bailey

#HearHim: President Nelson Invites Us to Hear the Voice of The Lord
In the scriptures, Heavenly Father has repeatedly introduced His Son, Jesus Christ, with a specific invitation to "hear Him." How do we hear the voice of the Lord? How do we hear Him better and more often? Learn how Apostles and other Church leaders personally "hear" the Lord Jesus Christ through the Spirit.
President Nelson Encourages Temple Worship
"My dear brothers and sisters, here is my promise. Nothing will help you more to hold fast to the iron rod than worshipping in the temple as regularly as your circumstances permit. Nothing will protect you more as you encounter the world’s mists of darkness. Nothing will bolster your testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Atonement or help you understand God’s magnificent plan more. Nothing will soothe your spirit more during times of pain. Nothing will open the heavens more. Nothing!"
"Our need to be in the temple on a regular basis has never been greater. I plead with you to take a prayerful look at how you spend your time. Invest time in your future and in that of your family. If you have reasonable access to a temple, I urge you to find a way to make an appointment regularly with the Lord—to be in His holy house—then keep that appointment with exactness and joy. I promise you that the Lord will bring the miracles He knows you need as you make sacrifices to serve and worship in His temples."
